Is Your Business on Track for 2026?

We're approaching the halfway point of the year. If you haven't reviewed your financial performance recently, June is a great time to take a step back and see whether your business is actually on track.

Waiting until year-end to discover that revenue is below budget or expenses have increased leaves you with fewer opportunities to respond.

Your Mid-Year Financial Checkup

  1. Revenue: Are sales tracking in line with your budget?
  2. Profitability: Are your margins improving, declining or staying consistent?
  3. Expenses: Which costs have increased the most since the beginning of the year?
  4. Receivables: How much money is outstanding, and how quickly are customers paying?
  5. Cash Flow: Will you have enough cash to cover upcoming payroll, taxes, loan payments and other commitments?
  6. Budget: Do your original assumptions still make sense based on your actual results?

June can also bring important tax obligations. For example, June 15 is generally the filing deadline for self-employed individuals, while certain tax instalments are also due during the month.

Don't Wait Until December

The value of financial reporting isn't simply knowing what happened. It's being able to use that information while there is still time to do something about it.

If revenue is behind budget, costs are increasing or cash flow is tightening, identifying the issue in June gives you months to adjust your strategy.
